These girls don’t feel safe. They feel over powered.
It is believed that every action has a reaction, that one person can
change the world. If people cared enough about something, chances are they can
change it. Everyone has a set of rights, called human rights. These rights are
granted to anyone, anywhere in the world. When someone violates these rights, it
is supposed to be seriously taken care of, but that doesn’t always happen. However, there are some people who
still want to change it. People who speak at rallies and conventions, or people
who go and try to help those in need head on. This does not sound easy, because
it’s not. Although these people
want to speak about the issues does not mean people would want to listen.
Our Defender, Fauziya Kassindja‘s
turning point was when she barely escaped her circumcision, when she fled her
village in Togo. She wasn’t okay with the procedure in the first place. Neither

it. There can be many reasons someone would want to fight for equal rights, some
people may have been through the situation that they are trying to stop like our
defender Fauziya, and others may have simply read it in a paper or heard about
it somewhere and didn’t think it was fair.
